Place Development Enablement Services

Community-led development and placemaking in this modern era require new levels of collaboration and participation. Our goal is to equip individuals with the necessary information, tools, and resources to drive continuous, and improving positive social change.

Maximising Engagement, Collaboration, and Participation

We understand that addressing today’s social, economic, and environmental challenges demands innovative approaches and frameworks.

Facilitated Co-design

Co-designing social, economic, and ecological solutions requires the engagement of diverse stakeholders. We facilitate this process by helping to establish a shared vision that aligns various priorities and levels of commitment. Our approach includes implementing business models and governance structures that support complex collaborations and encourage participation.

Tech4Good

As a Tech4Good provider, we work with partners that leverage technology to help projects tackling pressing social issues. We engage the use of technology that democratises access to information, connects underserved communities, and provides tools that empower individuals, and promotes engagement and participation to ensure the lived and living experience of people is accessible to guide co-design.

Working Partnerships

A cooperative operating structure is well-suited for community development and placemaking because it prioritises member welfare, promotes economic democracy, and ensures equitable benefit distribution. This structure empowers members by providing each a voice in the design and decision-making processes, regardless of their financial contribution.

Equitable Participation

Sociocracy, a collaborative governance model, enhances inclusivity and decentralises decision-making, making it ideal for service co-design and redesign that incorporates the lived experiences of people. This approach values every member's input, ensuring equal participation and laying the foundation for continuous improvement, leading to more sustainable solutions.

Three Phase Methodology

Our three-phase methodology treats placemaking as a continuous, dynamic cycle of building capabilities to meet community needs, experiencing these capabilities in action, and adapting to emerging opportunities. This approach empowers communities to engage in continual improvement and evolution.
  • Generating

Focuses on establishing robust connections, fostering engagement, and promoting community participation. The primary objective is to ensure early involvement in the co-design process.

  • Making

Involves the execution of the delivery plan, formally uniting all participants under a structured governance arrangement. This framework facilitates engagement and collaboration, channelling the necessary resources to advance project delivery effectively.

  • Keeping

Manages the transition into a 'business as usual' state, ensuring sustained capability within the community. The goal is to empower the community to continually evolve and respond to emerging opportunities.
